There will come a time in many of our lives when we have a device that is logged into a Netflix account that we no longer have access to. This could be either because it’s a friend or family members Netflix account or maybe it’s simply a trial that has run out and the account isn’t funded.
When this happens it’s usually not as simple as just deleting the Netflix app from the device. Often times the device will store the app details in its memory and if you don’t have access to the account from a computer, there isn’t a way to log out of the Netflix account and sign into a new one.
Luckily Netflix has a built-in Konami-like code that works across almost all devices. Whether you’re using an Xbox, Playstation, Roku or any other device, this code should work cross platform.
Load up the Netflix app on the device and enter the following using the device controller/remote:
↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑
If your remote or controller has both a joystick and a directional pad, try the joystick first. If that doesn’t work then give the directional pad a go.
And there you have it! From this menu you can sign out of the device, exit the app, find granular details about the app and more.
